An Unlikely Leader

Exodus 3:4 says” So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said,”Moses, Moses!” And he said, here I am”

What words come to your mind when you think of a great leader? I can assure you that none of us thought of the word “meek.” When we think of a leader we think of people who are strong and pretty famous don’t we? Well today I am going to tell you a story of a man who was not your average leader. His name is Moses. That’s right, Moses was not a born leader, he had trouble speaking, I guess we could say he stuttered, or maybe he was just a nervous person who didn’t enjoy talking to folks.

But what ever the reason was He was the perfect person God wanted to use as a leader for the people. You don’t have to be a “natural’ when it comes to being a leader, for you only need a heart for God and a teachable spirit. And Moses had both, and God called him. And though Moses made some mistakes in making decisions He was still God’s spokesman for the people.

Maybe God has called you to a task to step up and be His leader but just like Moses you don’t think you have what it takes to be a great leader? Maybe you feel that no one will take you serious, they won’t listen to you, what ever fears or insecurities you might have. When God calls a person to do something He already knows that you and I don’t have what it takes to get it done. He called you because you have a heart for God and a teachable spirit.

So when the world says ‘No” you don’t have what it takes to be a great leader remember God has already called you, and only He can validate you. So don’t give wasted energy and time into what man has said when God has already said Yes.
