Hebrews 2:1 says” We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we don’t drift away.
One reason as to why we are to pay attention is because drifting away is like a ship drifting past a safe harbor and continuing until it reaches a point where it wrecks. If we are to avoid this end result, we must pay close attention to God’s Word. Neglect, carelessness or apathy is spiritually fatal.
Believers who allow their relationship with Christ and their devotion to the truth to slip are in great danger of being swept by the waves of life past and safe harbor and away from the place of security.
We are not to neglect our personal time with Him through the reading of His word and prayer. In addition we must not ignore the guidance of the Holy Spirit within us. Are you in that safe harbor? Or has your ship wrecked?
