The Desires ~of our HEART

Psalm 37:4 says “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

In life we place so much worth into things and our possessions that we neglect to notice that those things don’t last but only for a short time. The reason for that is because it was not a desire from our hearts but it was more of a want.

Christ loves you and I so much that we will never truly understand His love for us, that is why He says “delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart.” and to delight is to seek after the things of God what pleases God?

Love pleases God when you and I show love to other people, when you and I spend time in His word, when you and I change our old sinful nature it’s these things and many more which pleases the Father.

The meaning here is that we should seek our happiness in God – in His perfections, His friendship, His love. When you and I begin to seek our happiness in Him it will regulate our desires, so that you and I will only ask of those things which is pleasing to the Father.

The reason many of us never get the desires of our hearts is because we haven’t had our hearts changed, we are still desiring many things of this world when the Lord is wanting to change our hearts. When we desire the heart of God the Lord will grant our desires for our desires will no longer be of the flesh or of this world but they will become heavenly desires. AMEN

  1. I’ve seen a lot of people hear the message, “Come as you are.” Unfortunately, many of them attend church and stay as they are while claiming God’s grace. I find this very sad.
