It was placed on my Heart

Colossians 3:23-24 says” Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

How do you respond when God places something on your heart that is about you? Do you sit and mediate on what was spoken or do you being to search yourself about what the Lord has spoken to you?

Our first response to the Lord is to take heed. God reveals things to us for a reason. It’s never to be taken lightly or to ignore it. Today I want to share with you what the Lord shared with me. A few weeks ago while at work the Lord said very plainly to me, ” why are you giving your career with great expectations to be perfect at what you do?” “when you don’t give me that same expectation?”

Family I have to say that word took me by complete surprise. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I thought about it when I got home I thought about it when I went to bed. Matter of fact I thought about it all week. After all of this pondering the Lord was telling me, not to put that expectations on myself to be perfect for my employer. And that I need to stop trying to be perfect for man.  For I am the Lord thy God and I don’t put that type of expectations on you.

I want you to know that since that time I have released myself from that pressure and it feels so much better to free. It’s amazing how we will place ourselves in places God never meant for us to be in. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. I thank the Lord for speaking to me for had He not I would still be in bondage.

The Lord wants us free in every area of our lives and that includes our careers. I hope what I have shared will help someone else.
