Genesis 16:3 says” She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”
The content of this story is about Sarah, Hagar and Ishmael, you know the story how Sarah couldn’t have a child, so she had her servant Hagar sleep with her husband. And at the end Sarah became so mad even though it was her idea, Hagar left the camp in pain.
She was hurt by what Sarah had dismissed her. But what I want us to look at is how God saw Hagar’s pain. When Hagar was in the desert God said to her that He would take care of her son Ismael, he wasn’t the promise child, but God still took care of Ishmael.
In life we try so hard to make things happen and when we can’t we bring others into our plans hoping that they can help us. The outcome is not what we expected we get frustrated. Remember when you were a youngster you would play ball with the kids in the neighborhood and you picked people to be on teams and you stood there waiting to be on the team? Only to see that they never picked you, so you walked away hurt and disappointed. God saw your pain.
It doesn’t matter what people think of you or why they ignore you, don’t harp on that. What’s important is that God see you and He will help you. God will use you for His glory. I just love how the Lord takes the downcast the left-overs the nobodies and turn them into someone GREAT. And the very people who didn’t take the time to think much about you will sit back in a daze wondering how in the world did you become more than what they thought of you? God sees more than man will ever see in you.
