The Prayer of Jabez

1 Chronicles 4:10 says” And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

When we read this verse of Jabez one of the things we think about when applying it to our lives is that God will bless us with material things. We see the word enlarge my border and we want large lands.

If you look into this scripture from a spiritual realm you will see that Jabez prayer was more than just material. His prayer was that God would enlarge our hearts. And so enlarge our portion in himself, to lead us, protect us, strengthen us, and to work all our works in us and for us.

Jabez prayed that God would keep him from evil, the evil of sin, the evil of trouble, and all evil from his enemies, that they might not hurt him. And so how does this prayer of Jabez helps us? I believe in my heart that there are many people who have a heart for God and they want to do His will, and so I believe that when we come praying this prayer to God, God will grant it to us just like He did with Jabez.

Father God I thank You for just being God all by yourself, it’s not easy at times being a Christian, for there is always something fighting against us to stop us from doing our assignment, Lord I know Your words to be life and truth. And I give all praises to You Lord. Amen…

Numbers 23:19 says” God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
