Reach to Encourage, NOT to Criticize

Ephesians 4:29 says “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

As parents we tell our children to always watch their mouths. Do you know the reason you told them to do that?

It is so easy for us a human to see another person’s fault and weakness and judge them by telling them what they should do. Or to say if it was I, you would do it differently. Yes, it’s always easy to look at another and see what you would do but what would you do when it’s your turn? Do you take the same advice you give someone else?

Jesus tells us to always lift a person up when you see him down. Not to look at their fall but to come alongside them and restore them, for one day we might find ourselves needing to be restored. Simple words like, you can make it, I am here by your side. How can I assist you? A mere hug telling them you love them; is an act of kindness that will speak to their spirit man.

Let’s show the world that we are God’s children by encouraging everyone.
