Question: What stuff are you keeping hidden behind your Gate?

Titus 2:5 say’s to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Gates are designed to keep intruders out. We protect what we have behind our gates. For a lot of time and effort went into what we have. The last thing we want is for it to be unappreciative. But with that being said, “where is the balance between normal and obsessive?

A person can take it to the extreme that they miss out on so much. For instance, one stands at the gate so many hours that they miss out on friendships and relationships. Why, all because they are so afraid to let someone get close to them. They aren’t willing to share their life experiences.

Sad as it is, I do believe that we all have some type of visible gates in our lives that we hoarder hurt, disappointments and fears. One can’t live behind a gate the rest of his or her life. There comes a time in each person’s life where they must start living.

Maybe you aren’t hiding possessions maybe yours is emotions.  What ever we are hiding those things will destroy us. You and I are not called to live this life as loners we are called for others and not of ourselves. Don’t become a prisoner to the stuff you have.

Disappointments are a part of life. Don’t allow it to destroy you instead grow from it. And please don’t become bitter.
