Hebrews 13:4 says” marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
We need to teach our children that marriage is honored by God, we must display it in our home. My definition for honeymoon is this: The honeymoon is a bind agreement to love one another for the rest of your life. And because of the love you have for one another it is what brings the honeymoon into existence.
The honeymoon is more then what most of us think, the honey moon is a divine blessing because here you have a couple who has made a covenant to each other and to God. And with that covenant comes responsibilities, accountability, trust and LOVE.
I’ve heard people say that the honeymoon is over or that it’s dry, the fire that once was there is no longer there. In all honesty it’s not over what has happen is that the challenges that comes with being married has covered it up. See when most of us get married we are on such an emotional roller coaster that we are going with the flow of our emotions and once we come off the ride we think that the feeling is gone.
We can’t always listen to our emotions for they will lie and disappoint us from time to time. Several things come into our thoughts one of them is “expectations” we wonder what the other person is expecting from us we wonder if we ourselves are going to meet the other person expectations in this marriage.
The next thing that comes into our thoughts is “fear” we fear the unknown of what the marriage is to be we fear the unknown of how to make the marriage work, we fear the unknown of so many things.
But even in all of this and believe me so much happens in a marriage we must remember this key fact neither partner is perfect, you both will make error but you must work at the marriage and love one another and show the fruit of the spirit which is found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Remember love “NEVER” gives up! Your marriage will try you, it’s a challenge. It takes work but the blessing is a miracle. Marriage is a beautiful thing between a man and woman who loves one another and who love Jesus Christ.
