Proverbs 18:21 says’ The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
We know that words are very powerful! And during the course of our day I wonder are we speaking or thinking more negatively then positively? For instance when we get upset we say “on no, this is not going to be good.” Or maybe when you are about to make yourselves a sandwich and you realize that you are out of what you wanted to put on the sandwich you say “for get it I can’t eat it now.”I know it sounds simple but it’s it the simple things that really get to us anyways?
You are in church and perhaps the person sitting next to you is constantly saying “amen” and in your mind your saying ” oh I wish this person would just be still so that you can hear. The list goes on and on, we really do speak and think negatively first before speaking or thinking positive things. What really motives us to think or say negative things? I challenge you starting today for the rest of today don’t think negatively or say anything negative about nothing. I don’t care what the situation is, look at every instance in a positive way.
At the end of the day not only will you feel good and energized but you would have learned how to not let events control your actions. Anytime a person stay in the realm of negativity they will be drained. I know this is no easy for any of us but what’s important is that we make an effort to not let our thoughts control us.
If you do take this challenge I do so look forward to hearing about it that I want you to post it on my site as your comment on Tuesday’s Devotion.
Let us be motivated for positive let not us be motivated to speak wrongly
