When the Lord Blesses You, RU like the 9 ungrateful Lepers?

Luke 17: 15-17 says” One of them came back to Jesus, shouting, “Glory to God, I’m healed!”  He fell flat on the ground in front of Jesus, face downward in the dust, thanking Him for what He had done…Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the nine?”

I love this story about the lepers because it truly reveals the hearts of mankind. They all had leprosy and needed to be healed but when Jesus healed them they all left excited I am sure, but there was one who just had to go back to Jesus and “thank Him” for His miracle. What I love in this story was that the leper humbled himself at the feet of Jesus Christ.

Our behavior says allot about just how ungrateful our hearts really are. God heals us and answers our prayers and the first we do is tell everyone what God has done for us, when the first thing we should be doing is spending that time on our face like this humbled leper did. But because we have ungrateful hearts we only give God a few seconds of Praise and spend endless moments telling others about our blessing.

Don’t get me wrong we are to witness to others. But don’t you think that Jesus deserves His glory first above all others? Which means you just don’t treat Him any kind of way and think that He will be okay with it. While the leper was giving glory to Him; Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?  Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”

Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” This sure does looks like you and I doesn’t it? Ungrateful, only thinking about ourselves and what God can do for us. I don’t know about you but when I read this story and the question Jesus asked, I wonder if He ask the same questions of us? How would you feel if Jesus said to you, why didn’t you come back to me? How would that make you feel?

The one who came back says allot about his heart, what does your actions says about your heart?
