Watch those Trivial Matters

Romans 14:17 says’ For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit

As Christians we are not to be overly concerned with trivial matters. In today’s scripture Paul is speaking about this very thing, here you have people who obviously where arguing over what one eats.

Paul is setting the record straight by informing them that food goes in and out of the body and has little, if anything to do with spiritual matters. When you look at the scripture closely you will see that it deals mainly with the outward or physical issues such as eating or observing certain days.

It’s not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man. With so much that is happening around our world has us all wondering what is really happening behind the scenes. Many of us have drawn our own opinion about many issues. It seems like social media is at its highest point in many years with all the negativity that is being blasted.

Sadly many Christians are doing the blasting, why are we giving our focus on these trivial matters? We don’t know the story of anything that we read or hear we are simply going by what is on the news. Remember the media only will give what they are told to give. What we should be doing is praying for discernment asking the Lord Jesus for help. Praying for the parties involved and pray that our hearts don’t harden or become filled with hatred all because of what we hear without knowing the whole truth behind it.

The enemy gets great pleasure in causing confusing and that is what has happened since the beginning to time with Adam and Eve. You would have thought that we would be smarter and know how cunning he is? His tricks haven’t changed; only the people have changed. So why are we still falling for his tricks? Why aren’t we seeking God in prayer?

I have my questions too, I ask God why. But for me to get any type of understanding I keep going back on my knees, praying to Jesus because only He knows the truth about what you and I will never see behind the scenes. Me being a Christian I can’t allow myself to get caught up in trivial matters where the enemy is having his heyday. No, I have to keep praying for every matter that makes no sense to me. This way my emotions won’t form their own opinion and my heart stays right before God.

Jesus calls us to pray about everything not just what is happening in your personal life but everything around you as well.
