Why do people believe a Lie before the Truth?

In Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: Today let us each examine each one of them and see just which one are we. I know some people will probably say that they are neither one, but I beg to differ because per God’s word for all have sin and fallen short of the glory of God.

Often, we read this verse and we move ahead to the next verses without giving it any thought about it. And I will be the first to say I do that at times, but when I come to verses like these where it talks about what God hates. I understand how merciful God is I also understand that God does not and will not ever put up with foolishness. He will not be mocked! It’s a sad thing when a person thinks that they are without sin.

1. A proud look – exalted eyes; those who will not condescend to look on the rest of mankind.
2. A lying tongue – he who neither loves nor tells truth.
3. Hands that shed innocent blood
4. A heart that devised wicked imaginations – the heart that fabricates such, lays the foundation, builds upon it, and completes the superstructure of iniquity
5. Feet that be swift in running to mischief – he who works iniquity with greediness.

6. A false witness that speaketh lies – one who, even on his oath before a court of justice, tells anything but the truth.

Seven are an abomination unto him – “to his soul.” The seventh is, he that soweth discord among brethren – he who troubles the peace of a family, of a village, of the state; all who, by lies and misrepresentations, strive to make men’s minds evil-affected towards their brethren.

Humor and Laughter

Proverbs 17:22 says” A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 15:13 says” A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

But God

Who don’t like humor and laughter? I know I love it matter of fact I love it so much I make it a habit to find something to laugh at every day.

You may be thinking I must be a little weird but no I love laughing. When I say laughing I am talking about one of those belly laughs where you laugh so much that your belly aches.

Even when I am faced with life issues I must laugh I know at that very moment I don’t laugh but once I get a hold of myself and get a perspective then I laugh, for if I don’t then I will cry and not to say there is something wrong with crying for crying releases what is on the inside of us. But when I laugh I am laughing at the trouble, letting it know that it can’t stop me from being who I am. For I am not defined by my troubles.

In this verse we see that when our hearts are cheerful it brings medicine to us, it comforts us and bring peace, look at it this way, you have a headache everything you have taken has not helped the headache, so you go to the doctors and they give you something that they know that will stop the headache, you take it and within minutes you can already feel yourself feeling much better.

Why? because the power of the medicine they gave you has better strength. Same as with this verse God’s word has power and when we take His word and uses it in our lives we too will start to feel better. Got it AMEN!
