Clothe for Battle

2 corinthians 10 4 and 5For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)  King James Version

Whole Armor of GOD

Ephesians 6 11

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand .  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:11-17)  King James Version

  1. We must wise up!
Worldly, fleshly, weapons will never win the spiritual warfare we face.
May we always depend on that, which God has provided and take it to arm ourselves, continuing to stand firm in the victory that Jesus has already won on the Cross.
Thank you Desiray for your powerful scriptures, reminding us to be clothed for battle, daily.

  2. I often catch myself running around in my robe instead of armor – then wondering why I’m being wounded. Duh! Heaven is for robes, earth is for armor!

    Thanks for the reminder.

Praying for a joyous time of resting for you. Enjoy those green pastures!

  3. I once heard a pastor say, “We were born into a war-zone.” The sooner we realize that that is our reality–that there is a very real enemy who fights for our destruction–the sooner we’ll take up our armor and fight back!

  4. I have always loved the story of spiritual warfare. We fight not for bodies and blood, but for minds and souls!
